Kathy Garcia

Kathy Garcia serves as volunteer coordinator of the El Salvador Health Mission. She works and lives in Eugene, Oregon with her husband Victor, and her daughter Andrea. Kathy recruits and matches volunteers to mission opportunities in El Salvador. working with all PeaceHealth regions to promote volunteer opportunities to staff and physicians.

For 15 years, Kathy worked in Special Procedures Radiology at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eugene. For the past eight years, she has held the the position of Floor Coordinator of the Cardiac Cath Lab and Interventional Radiology. This position helped prepare her for this diverse roll as mission coordinator.

In 1991-1992, Kathy lived in Tegucigalpa Honduras to be near her husbands family. She worked at the American School where her daughter attended first and second grades. For over twenty years, Kathy has traveled extensively through out Central America. As a family, they have been involved in fundraising, gathered donations and prepared school supplies packets for those effected by hurricane Mitch.

She is very excited to be in this position of the El Salvador Mission Program Coordinator. Kathy feels that to be a part of an organization that offers health care to those in need is truly a fulfilling experience. She looks forward to the growth of our El Salvador Mission Program, and working with the volunteers. This is a dream come true for her personally and professionally.
